Staff Spotlight: What Drives Our Team

Tipping Point is made up of passionate individuals cultivating community with nonprofits, cutting-edge leaders, partners, and our community at large because we know together, we can create a Bay Area where everyone prospers. Meet Angela, Justine, Mona, and Liz (above, left to right) and hear what led them to work at Tipping Point and what drives them to continue this work each day.

Angela Bereola, Events Manager, manages and ensures our collection of events runs smoothly.

“There are so many ways to uplift our communities and I wanted to be of service to as many as I could. Working with this passionate and collaborative organization helps me to do just that.”

Angela lives in the East Bay, and her favorite hidden gem in the Bay Area is the hiking trails in the East Bay hills.

Liz Givens, Chief Development Officer, leads our Development team to optimize donor engagement to support our portfolios of grantees.

“I love bringing people together to do great things – and what could be better than building a Bay Area where everyone can thrive.”

As a Berkeley resident, her favorite spot in the area is the Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley.

Justine González, Capacity Building Manager, works with our grantee organizations to evaluate and support their growth and development.

“I want to be part of a team that prioritizes people, the perspectives of those directly impacted, and their authentic empowerment to set the agenda and define the approach for positive change in their communities. Tipping Point supports organizations doing this work in the Bay and I’m excited to contribute my skills and expertise to strengthening communities in this way.”

Originally from New York, Justine now lives in San Francisco. Her hidden gem recommendation is Panchita’s Pupusería & Restaurant, with the pupusas being a menu favorite.

Mona Chang, Senior Major Gifts Officer, manages and builds relationships with our donors to ensure the ongoing success of Tipping Point’s work.

“I joined Tipping Point because I want to work for an organization that cares about our community and to contribute to a place that raised me as I am now raising my own family!”

Mona lives in San Francisco, and she recommends the SF Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park because you can travel the world in the 55 acres.
