Terriana Briggs shares her 20-year journey as a housing advocate helping youth and families access critical resources. Her passion for the Bay Area and lived-experience facing housing insecurity herself motivated her to join the Youth Empowerment Program team at Mental Health Association of San Mateo County (MHA), funded by Tipping Point Community. There, she leads a team of peer navigators and case managers who help youth move from shelters or out on the streets and into stable homes of their own.
Her story was featured at the Tipping Point Benefit on May 2, 2024, where the Bay Area community raised $14.5 million to fund our grantmaking for the next year.
MHA is one of over 80+ nonprofits funded by Tipping Point Community. Tipping Point’s strategy finds, funds, and strengthens the most promising poverty-fighting solutions so one day everyone in the Bay Area can prosper. Since 2005, we have invested over $410 million in community interventions, policy change, and new ideas.
Last year, our grantees provided life-changing services in housing, early childhood, education, and employment to over 90,000 of our neighbors across the Bay Area.
